Maria Aybar Director of Operations and Founding Member Maria Aybar is a dynamic and passionate leader who has navigated the complexities of immigrant life in the United States with remarkable resilience and excellence. As the Director of Operations and a Founding Member of the Latinx Community Center for Empowerment (LCCE), Maria combines her educational background and passion for helping students and communities to drive impactful initiatives. Maria's journey is a testament to her commitment to education and community service. With dual master's degrees in Public Policy and Business Administration at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management, with a concentration in Economic and Racial Equity. Maria holds dual bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Latinx & Latin American Studies from Amherst College, and an associate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Middlesex Community College. Her professional experience includes roles as an Evaluation Associate Consultant for the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color and as a Harvard Kennedy School Rappaport Fellow in Public Policy at the City of Boston’s Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development. Maria has also contributed significantly as an Immigration Paralegal at Gomez and Palumbo Law LLC and as a Research Fellow at Harvard Law School’s Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice. Maria’s skills in program evaluation, data analysis, policy analysis, grant writing, and community engagement are complemented by her bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. She serves on several boards, including the Multilingual Association for Bilingual Education and the UMass Lowell Greely Peace Scholar Advisory Board. Maria’s dedication to education and advocacy is further demonstrated through her presentations at numerous conferences and her receipt of multiple awards and fellowships. Maria's excellence in navigating resources as an immigrant and her profound dedication to helping others reflect her unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
